One of our desires at the Danville Campus is to make a difference in our community. One of the ways we are accomplishing this is by partnering with Jennie Rogers Elementary School to make a difference in the lives of children. The goal is to engage people from Southland in volunteer opportunities to develop relationships with students, staff, and families. Currently we have volunteers tutoring, mentoring, providing hands on help with facility improvements, helping teachers in the classroom with various needs, and being available for school events. This ministry relies on volunteers getting involved to make a difference by supporting, praying for and encouraging young lives.
Tutoring
Meet with a student once a week before, during, or after school to help with math or reading skills. Teachers will provide materials.
Mentoring
Meet with a student once a week during lunch or after school to build a relationship, play games, work on homework, or just listen.
Classroom Volunteers
Help teachers prepare their classrooms, run copies, create bulletin boards, or any other teacher need.
Staff Appreciation
Make gifts or crafts once every two months for staff.
Events Support
Be prepared to help as needed with events such as open house, school programs, and PTO events.
Facilities Improvement
Volunteers are needed to help with projects such as painting, landscaping, and small building projects.

on July 31 and August 7, we will be collecting school supplies at the Danville Campus. You may also download a PDF of the supply list. We're asking people to please donate the following items for students:
