What famous person do people tell you that you look like?
Sandra Bullock. But they're just being nice. It's more because I act crazy like Sandra Bullock.
What is your favorite TV series?
30 Rock on NBC or Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations on the Travel Channel.
Your greatest indulgence?
IKEA. The amazing, affordable, wonderful, don’t-forget-the-café, Swedish home furnishings store.
What is one book that has impacted you?
I'll give you 2. The Cost of Discipleship by Deitrich Bonhoeffer or There is No Me Without You by Melissa Faye Greene.
When did you first come to Southland?
Very first time visiting was in 1997. Started coming regularly and joined in late 2002.
What is your role at Southland?
I work with organizations in the community and people at Southland who serve outside the walls of church.
Can we read your blog?
I'd rather you not. (just kidding.) Unless you're adopting a kid. In that case, you can read my blog The Family B.
One of your proudest moments?
Bringing my daughter home from Ethiopia, and thankful that God took us on the journey of adoption.
What is your most memorable experience?
Spending a semester of college in Europe studying and traveling.
What inspires you?
Taking small steps to serve and love people living in poverty, either around the world in Africa, or right here in Lexington.
What is your biggest challenge?
Doing household chores. I'm terrible at it.
