What was your first job?
My first was at some burger place that's gone out of business, but I have had a wide assortment including driving a Tom's Peanut Snack Truck, working in a bank mail room, numerous administrative office jobs, public relations/special events coordinator at a local advertising agency, executive assistant to the president of non-profit community development agency.
What is one book that has impacted you?
Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning (anything by Brennan Manning!)
What was your childhood ambition?
To parachute and ride in a hot air balloon.
One of your proudest moments?
Whenever I see my kids being kind and compassionate to others.
What brought you to Southland?
My parents when I was 12! When I came back in '96 or so... Brewster's youth group. I came back to bring my teenage daughter here and help with the youth group.
What is your most memorable experience?
The birth of my kids. My first trip to Haiti. The birth of my grandchild. All rank up there.
What inspires you?
People in need, people who are hurting inspire me to act. People who serve inspire me to join them.
If you could vacation anywhere... where would you go?
The Greek Islands.
What is your biggest challenge?
Quiet time. I love it, it's just hard for me to make myself stop long enough to have it.
Who lives in your house?
Most of the time it's just me, but the door's usually open for whoever needs it.
