Connection
We believe it is so important to share the journey of following Jesus with other people.
We each need people in our lives who will encourage AND challenge us along the way. Here are some places designed to help you develop those types of relationships. Take a look and see which opportunity for connection is most attractive to you.
You should also know that we offer two places every weekend where you can ask a question about Southland:
Opportunities
Classes
Classes at Southland offer the opportunity to be a part of a larger group and receive teaching on a variety of topics. Learning spaces are typically organized around tables which gives attendees the opportunity to develop relationships in a comfortable setting. Most classes meet once a week for 6 weeks. Visit Classes for more information.
Life Groups
Life Groups are peer led and focus on living life together outside the walls of the church. These Biblical communities prioritize spiritual formation, shared life and a lifestyle of service. In simpler language they love God and love people, together. Email us for more information.
Basic Groups
Basic Groups provide a very casual opportunity to ask questions, discuss and form relationships in a small group setting (4-6 people). Basic Groups focus on topics that are at the foundation of following Jesus. As a participant, you’ll have the opportunity to choose the specific topics you’ll cover from a list developed by our Discipleship Team. Groups meet once a week for 8 weeks. Email us for more information.
Prayer
Partner with us in praying for our church family. There are several opportunities to receive prayer and to pray for others. Visit the Southland Prayer Blog to submit a prayer request, pray for our church family and find out more about prayer opportunities available at Southland.
Care Groups
Find a safe place where you can heal. We desire to take good care of people in our church family who are working through hurts, habits, or hangups. That’s most of us, isn’t it? There are a variety of places specifically designed to help you develop relationships and heal. Visit Care for more information.
Outreach Teams
A great way to form relationships is to join in with members of our church family who are serving others. Outreach consists of local and global opportunities to extend hope to people. The locations, activity, and time commitment for these groups are all different but the mission is the same. Love people. Visit Local and Global Missions for more information.
Children
Our Children’s Ministry provides a place for children (Nursery-5th Grade) to form relationships with others who are following Jesus. Visit Children for more information.
Students
Our Student Ministry provides a place for students (middle-high school) to form relationships with others who are following Jesus. Visit Students for more information.
Have Questions?
Connection Point
If you have a question, stop by Connection Point. Just look for the big blue question mark just outside the Worship Center. People are available at Connection Point before or after any of the weekend services.
Welcome to Southland
The Welcome to Southland Class is a one week class that will further explain Southland's vision, values, strategy, language and membership. Meeting times are usually on Sunday after a service. Meetings can be found on the calendar for both Harrodsburg Road and Danville.
