6:08pm. It’s the starting time for the 608 worship experience. But it’s more than just a number on a clock. 608 is also a place. It’s a place where we hope you can experience God, be in community with others and embark on a mission to love and serve those in need. So, it’s a time and a place... but 608 is also people - and we are glad it includes you.

Forgotten God

Scripture tells us God imparted his Spirit to us so we could be known for His power. (Acts 1:8; 2 Tim 1:7) Sadly, this is not a description for every believer and church today. The very mention of the words “Holy Spirit” causes a myriad of thoughts and associations, both positive and negative. This confusion and misunderstanding often causes Christ-followers to ignore this special and profound part of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the “true source of the church’s power” who we have forgotten far too long. When we do so, we “operate in our own strength, accomplishing only human-sized results.”

Community provides us with a place to belong, a place to process with others, and a way to partner together to make a difference in our world. Discipleship is about following Jesus, becoming more like Him each day. When we follow close on the heels of Christ, we will soon find He extends an invitation to us to join Him in meeting the needs of others. We, like Jesus, can make a simple expression of God’s love for everyone on the planet by living everyday life on mission. At 608 we want to support you in becoming more like Christ by providing 3 specific initiatives where you can get involved and serve to make a difference in the world:
